We define Global Automation as a process
that can modify a wide variety of drawings characteristics for groups of
drawings unattended. When you define a Batch operation with MapTools Commander, you are required to choose a Batch Directory. This directory should be on your local hard drive for most efficient processing. To Start a Batch Process, you simply need to change the Working Directory (Start-in Directory) of AutoCAD to be the same as your Batch Directory. The Batch Process The drawings you choose to process do not need to be copied to the Batch Directory, in fact you can select any drawing in any directory that is available, including network drives. If you select drawings that are not located in your Batch Directory, when the batch process runs, they will be copied from the remote directory to the Batch Directory, processed and then copied back to the remote directory (to minimizes network traffic). |
