Now with over 100 tools, our MapTools product line has undergone the most intensive revision since its introduction over 10 years ago. We invested over one man-year into this development process and then tested V5 extensively on all platforms and versions of AutoCAD from Windows 98 / Release 14 to the latest AutoCAD 2002 / Windows XP.

New User Interfaces
We updated the look and feel, as well as the nuts and bolts. Our new MapTools V5 product line includes over 65 new tools and tool improvements. Virtually every MapTools function now sports a dialog box interface, including all new interfaces for PET and MapTools Commander.

•  MT-Automation has been totally redesigned for quick and easy automated editing. PET sports a new Dialog Box interface and now supports Mtext, Leaders, Ellipse and Splines. MapTools Commander has been totally redesigned and is now very easy to use.

New Polyline NURBS Fitting Tool
Create Splines or Polylines that approximate the path of a NURBS Spline from the vertices of any 2D or 3D Polyline. With PNURBS you can create smooth polylines that also pass through every vertex.

New Polyline Vertex Interpolator
PTERP is our new Polyline Restructuring Tool and Point Set Builder. It operates on 2D and 3D Polylines to create any of three outputs: make new Polylines (2D or 3D) with different vertex locations, make new AutoCAD Points along the source polylines, or write ASCII disk files with XYZ point data.

Annotate Linework
Our new Linework Annotation tool creates Bearing and Distance labels for Lines and straight segments of Polylines. Curve Data blocks are inserted for Arcs & curved segments of Polylines.

MT-Clean, now with 3 times the power and 2 "clean definition" choices
MT-Clean V5 offers a suite of cleaning tools designed to help you identify topology errors and automatically correct them. A user set Clean Tolerance guides the process and all entities that don't get cleaned are automatically tracked for use with our new semi-automated error viewer / fixer.

Snap, Cluster, Pop - 3 Cleaners to tackle the toughest jobs
We added two new clean engines to V5. In addition to our classic Trim / Extend processor, we added a new Snap Processor that can move linework endpoints in any direction to create an intersection and a new Cluster Processor that can move any number of linework endpoints to form a single intersection.

A Brand New PET
When PET was first introduced in 1991, the press hailed it as "AutoCAD's Best Friend". For over 10 years PET has delivered the most capable Search and Replace Automated Editing available anywhere. PET V5 continues the legacy of excellence to deliver the same flexibility (over 2 billion possible settings) with a brand new super efficient user interface.

This example shows PET being used to:

Find all Text labels that use Style ARIAL, that are also on Layer STLAB* with a Height between 15 & 30 and with the characters AVE. at the end.

Then modify those entities to change the Color to 34, change the Height to exactly 25, replace the characters AVE. with AVENUE and move it 7.5 units at Angle 90.

Automated editing operations like this can be setup in seconds and if the job is one you may want to do again, you can name it and add it to your library. The next time you need it, one pick is all you'll need.

MapTools Commander - a new implementation delivers "simple automation"

MapTools Commander is our automation generator and controller. Our newest version has been completely redeveloped with the goal of simplifying the creation and execution of complex automated operations.

You can quickly define a series of automated edits, test them out in the current drawing and save it in your library for future use. If you need to process groups of drawings, MapTools Commander can apply any of your automated operations in Batch Mode to any number of drawings Unattended.

MapTools V5 includes 18 automated tools that can be controlled by MapTools Commander:
Clean, Clip, Close Polylines, Curvefit, Interpolate Polylines, Join, Label Linework, NURBS Fit, Scallop, Change Bulge, Align Text, Rubbersheet, Block Redefinition, Eliminate Duplicates, Sift small entities and 3 PET commands - Text Search and Replace, Block Search and Replace and Entity Search and Replace.
